The Purple Flutterby

I know nothing of the world of computers...I barely managed to set up this blog. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Changes

One day old and things are already changing. Since Purple Flutterby was my address, I decided to change that to the title as well. Also, I couldn't find a purple template, and pink was as close as I could get.

So why did I choose "The Purple Flutterby"? Number one, saraiwayne.blogspot and purplebutterfly.blogspot were already taken. (Sarai Wayne is such a popular name these days.) Number two, purple is my favorite color. Pretty much my entire bedroom is purple: walls, bedding, CD player, etc. Almost all of my clothes are purple. Even the Glorious Appearing was a purple hardback with purple tinted paper. Number three, I am a member of the Chrysalis/Journey/Emmaus community. If you know what that is, then you know why I like butterflies. If you don't, I'm sorry, but Chrysalis/Journey/Emmaus is pretty much unexplainable. The best I can do is say it's a 72-hour retreat where you get close to God, meet new people and new friends, and eat food until you can eat no more. And then you have a snack. Chrysalis is for high school, Journey is for college, and Emmaus is for adults. Going on Chrysalis was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. As you can see, I highly recommend it.

As often happens when I write, I get off on rabbit trails and forget what I was first talking about. It looks like that's what happened here. Don't say I didn't warn you!

    Sarai,

I sent you an email on how you might make a couple of minor changes to your template to make it more purply :)

    love,

Uncle M (the Nutso one- although really that's debatable as to who deserves that title more).

I had only heard about the adult version - Emmaus. That's great that you got to attend something so awesome. BTW, have a great missions trip.

Also, could I borrow the last book in the "Left Behind" series at Lakeside? I'm too cheap to buy my own.
    Love, Aunt Terry

You got the "purple gene" from me. My room at Nanny & Papa's house was redecorated after I got married and moved out. Which room? The "Pretty Room" aka "The Bridal Suite". They took down my purple wallpaper, ripped out the variegated purple shag carpet and turned it into what it is today. You have me to thank for the purple-ness in your life :o)

    Love,
    Auntie Amy

I forgot to mention Chrysalis and Emmaus. I did the Emmaus Walk in 1988. I LOVED it! It's an incredible experience... and you don't have to be Methodist or Baptist or Catholic. You are free to be yourself. I went on to be a "Kitchen Angel" at a later walk and I was blessed to be chosen as the "Music Angel" for an Emmaus Walk and Chrysalis. I think I enjoyed that part even more than my original walk. It's hard to choose... I guess I loved them both equally. I just loved different parts of each walk. The biggest blessing for me was to do a talk. I don't know if they change the titles of the "talks", but I did The Body of Christ. What a humbling experience... but it was also a wonderful experience.

Anyway... I thought I'd let you know that you have an Emmaus/Chrysalis buddy in the family. We can swap stories.
